St. Petersburg, FL, United States (AHN) – Three members of law enforcement were shot early Monday morning in St. Petersburg, Florida. Two St. Petersburg police officers and a U.S. Marshall were shot and now a standoff with the suspected gunman is ongoing.
According to the latest reports, the gunman remains barricaded in a home.
Authorities have fired tear gas canisters into the home in an effort to force the suspect out.
The shootings occurred around 7:45 a.m. at a home in the 3700 block of 28th Avenue South.
The victims’ conditions are not yet available.
Some unconfirmed reports from a witness say a hostage is being held.
According to a police spokesman, the officers were met at the front door by the suspect’s girlfriend who said he was in the attic. They went to the attic and the suspect came out firing. Two of the officers managed to get out of the house.
One police officer and the U.S. Marshall were taken to a local hospital. A third officer was inside the house for several hours. That officer was brought out of the house around 9:30 a.m. and taken away in an ambulance.
The U.S. Marshal’s office had initially sought the help of St. Petersburg police in serving a warrant to a person on three felony charges, including aggravated battery, police said. That’s when the shootings occurred.
A nearby school, Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School, has been locked down and is surrounded by police cars.

My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be really appreciated!
